Private household tool
Family Organizer
A small assistant that keeps one family's calendar in step with the school and activity email that arrives every week.
What it does
- Reads forwarded email. Family members forward school notices, invitations and activity schedules to the household's own Gmail account. Family Organizer reads only those forwarded messages and pulls out dates, times and places.
- Keeps the family calendar current. Extracted events are added to, or updated on, the household's own Google Calendar.
- Sends a daily digest and reminders to the family's own chat channels so nobody misses a pickup, a form or a school event.
- Labels processed mail in Gmail so each message is handled exactly once.
Who it is for
Family Organizer is not a public service and does not accept sign-ups. It connects only to one household's own Google account, which that household authorised itself. It has no other users.
Google data
Family Organizer asks for access to Gmail (read, label and send) and Google Calendar, and uses that access only to provide the features above. How the data is handled, and how to revoke access, is set out in the privacy policy.
